# Setting Up Your Workspace

> How to create and configure a new workspace in ALK.

### Overview

This guide walks you through creating and configuring a workspace in ALK. Workspaces allow you to control what different team members can see and access. You need Owner or Admin access at the organisation level to create a workspace.

### Before You Start

* The first person to sign up for your organisation automatically becomes the Owner
* Every organisation has a default workspace created automatically — this cannot be deleted

### Important Notes

* Only Entity Owners and Admins can create workspaces. Workspace Admins cannot create new workspaces, they only manage the ones they've been assigned to.
* The default workspace cannot be deleted by anyone, including the Entity Owner.
