A running log of what’s changed in ALK, in plain language. For the current status of platform components, see ALK Platform Status.
New in the knowledge base: Confidence Levels explains how ALK rates its confidence in each extracted value, what High, Medium, and Low each entail, and how to use them to prioritise review. The scoring itself is not new — this is the first time it has been written up.

August 18, 2026

  • Signing in: Email addresses are no longer case-sensitive at sign-in. Typing Ada@company.com when your account was created as ada@company.com now signs you in as normal, for password, one-time code, and code-request flows alike.

August 16 – 17, 2026

  • Custom workflows: The Reference input has been simplified. Instead of choosing between a constant and a document, you now paste your reference text straight into one box, or click Upload document to have ALK extract the text from a PDF, image, Word, or text file and prefill it for you — and you can edit the result before saving. You can still limit a reference to particular steps, or leave it available to the whole workflow. See Add reusable reference inputs.
  • Workflows: Fixed a class of extraction failures where a run would return no results at all because the request was rejected before it reached the model.

August 13 – 15, 2026

  • Reviewing extractions: Source highlights on the document are now placed accurately at every zoom level. Each cited region is highlighted separately rather than as one block spanning everything between them, and highlights no longer appear on fields with no extracted value.
  • Reviewing extractions: Opening a field whose source region was poorly scanned now shows a warning that the source text was hard to read, so you know when to read the page yourself.
  • Signatures: Detected signatures are now highlighted as regions on the document and can be cited as the source of a field, even though a signature block contains no text.
  • Document processing: Documents no longer get stuck on Converting when a background worker fails mid-conversion — stalled conversions are now detected and retried automatically. Large scans are also routed away from processing paths that could not handle them.
  • Workflows: A session could previously get stuck showing as “extracting” indefinitely. Extraction state is now released reliably, including for collections, and a periodic sweep recovers any run whose worker was killed.
  • Collections: Extraction across a collection of documents is significantly faster — fields at the same dependency level now run together rather than one at a time. Batches of many short documents are also routed to a faster processing tier.
  • Workflows: The results table no longer freezes while a large session is extracting, and results stream in more responsively.
  • Advanced builder (Beta): The Advanced workflow builder is now labelled Beta. See Choose a builder.

August 12 – 13, 2026

  • Workflows: Fixed the workflow list page counter jumping back to the previous page when you clicked next or previous quickly.
  • Acumatica: Fixed token refresh failures that were disconnecting some Acumatica integrations and required reconnecting by hand.

August 11, 2026

  • Workflow approvals: When you add someone as an approver for a workflow stage, ALK now gives them the editor access and document access they need to complete the review.
  • Invites: If you are invited using a personal email address (Gmail, Outlook, and similar), signing up now places you in the organisation that invited you instead of creating a separate one.
  • Signing up: Invites are now validated before an account is created, so a rejected sign-up leaves nothing behind and can be retried cleanly once the invite is fixed.
  • Access: Accounts that are not attached to an organisation can no longer sign in. If you see this, ask your Workspace Admin to re-issue your invite.

August 10 – 11, 2026

  • Custom workflows: You can now add reusable reference inputs to a workflow. Use a short constant or a reference document—such as a job description, policy, or rubric—then use its named value in the steps that need it.
  • Advanced builder (Beta): Drag a block so its connector sits near another block’s connector and ALK now creates the connection for you. It will not create a connection that loops back on itself or replaces one already in place, so you can rearrange the canvas without disturbing the graph you built.
  • Pulse: Dashboard refreshes now keep the existing layout and use the relevant source files for each widget, improving the reliability of refreshed insights.

August 3 – 9, 2026

  • Pulse: You can now use Mono and Acumatica as dashboard data sources, alongside the existing supported integrations.
  • Pulse: Dashboards can now be created with no automatic refresh schedule. Where available, you can refresh a dashboard tab manually when you need updated analysis.
  • Reconciliation: The match-rate label is now coverage rate, making it clearer that the value represents how much of the relevant data has been covered. Run duration is also recorded for better visibility into processing time.
  • Workflows: Improved the reliability of exporting workflow results to Analyst, CSV, and Excel, including fixes for destination selection.
  • Document processing: Improved extraction of text-based and long scanned documents, with more resilient fallback handling where OCR is required.

July 21 – 27, 2026

  • Extraction review: Rejecting an extracted field is now tracked as its own status, separate from editing. If you hand-correct a value, it’s marked Edited; if you flag it as wrong without changing it, it’s marked Rejected. You can also un-verify a field to undo an accidental Verify click.
  • Pulse + QuickBooks: Dashboards can now pull balance sheet and profit & loss data from QuickBooks, in addition to invoices and transactions. Fixed an issue where some QuickBooks connections weren’t syncing correctly in Pulse.
  • Workflows: Fixed a flicker in the results table after re-running extraction on a workflow session.
  • Document collections: Removed drag-to-reorder from the collection document list — documents now list in a fixed order.
  • Improved extraction reliability and accuracy across workflows.

July 14 – 20, 2026

  • Analyst: Citations now highlight the exact cell, column, or row range in your source file that an answer came from, instead of just naming the file.
  • Pulse: You can now choose which synced files from Google Drive or OneDrive a dashboard should use, instead of pulling in every file from that source.
  • Added Paystack and Microsoft Dynamics 365 groundwork as Pulse data sources.
  • Fixed an incorrect ending balance showing up in reconciliation for some General Ledger periods.
  • Fixed an SSL connection issue for Acumatica instances using self-signed certificates.

July 7 – 13, 2026

  • Added Google Sheets, QuickBooks, and ClickHouse as data sources for Pulse and Knowledge.
  • Added the ability to ingest spreadsheet data directly into Pulse.
  • Various Pulse reliability fixes based on user feedback.

June 29 – July 6, 2026

  • Pulse: Introduced dashboard generation — describe your data sources, goals, and how often to refresh, and ALK builds and schedules a full dashboard for you.
  • Added Xero as a data source.
  • Action Center: Workflow and reconciliation events now show up as notifications.
  • Integrations that aren’t available yet now show a Requested state once you’ve asked for them, under Knowledge > Integrations.
  • Fixed a Google Drive connection issue affecting some accounts.

Earlier in June 2026

  • Onboarding tour: New users are now guided through ALK’s main features on first login. You can replay it anytime from Settings.
  • Uploading a PDF now shows a live status indicator while it’s processing, instead of only appearing once complete.
