Overview
Analyst is ALK’s data analysis feature. It allows you to upload Excel files and perform deep analysis using AI, such as summarising data, finding trends, and generating charts, without needing to write formulas or use separate analytics tools.What you can do in Analyst
There are three core actions:- Summarise my data: Get a comprehensive overview of all sheets and columns in your uploaded file.
- Find trends & patterns: Discover correlations and trends across your data automatically.
- Create a visualisation: Generate charts and graphs from your data.
Getting started with Analyst

Open Analyst
Click the chart icon in the ALK navigation bar to open Analyst.

Upload your file
Analyst accepts Excel files in the following formats:
.xlsx, .xls, .xlsm. Maximum file size is 50MB per file.To upload, click the attachment icon at the bottom left of the screen and select either:- From computer — upload directly from your device
- Knowledge map — select a file already connected through your Knowledge sources

Start analysing
Once your file is uploaded, select one of the three analysis options or type your own question directly into the chat input at the bottom of the screen. To reference a specific sheet in your question, type
@ followed by the sheet name.4
Switch views
Use the Chat and Sheet tabs in the top right to toggle between the AI conversation view and a spreadsheet view of your uploaded data. To view history of all previously uploaded sheets or Analyst conversations, click the clock icon.
Important notes
- Analyst is in Early Preview. Verify results against your source data before using outputs for reporting or decision-making.
- ALK can make mistakes. The footer reminder “ALK can make mistakes. Please check important info” applies especially here. Always validate analytical outputs.
