Overview

Annuity Application is a workflow for processing retirement annuity applications and verifying retiree details so pension teams can review requests quickly and consistently. It extracts retiree identity and retirement details from submitted documents and produces a structured record your team can validate, edit, and export. What you get: a structured table of extracted fields you can review, edit, and export.
To set up the workflow (creating sessions, uploading documents, running a workflow, and exporting), see Setting Up a Workflow for a comprehensive guide. This page focuses on what’s specific to Annuity Application.

What’s specific to Annuity Application

  1. Columns are your screening criteria. Annuity review works best when your columns mirror how your team screens applications. Feel free to add, remove, or rename columns where necessary.
  2. Verification is part of the workflow. Treat outputs as draft. Validate key identifiers (e.g., RSA number, date of birth, retirement date) against the source documents before exporting.
  3. Add team-specific checks. Add columns for eligibility and compliance requirements your team must confirm before approval.

Standard fields (default columns)

Optional fields (commonly added)

These fields may be added or edited to match your internal review process:
  • annuity_type: Type of annuity selected (e.g., programmed withdrawal, life annuity), if applicable.
  • benefit_amount: Benefit amount(s) relevant to the annuity request (lump sum and/or periodic), if applicable.
  • eligibility_status: Eligible / Not Eligible / Needs Review, with a brief reason.
  • compliance_check: Pass / Fail / Needs Review, with brief notes on what was checked.
  • application_summary: Short summary of the application and any issues requiring attention.

Customising Annuity Application columns

You can tailor columns to match how your pension team reviews annuity applications.
  • Add columns for any additional data you need to extract.
  • Rename columns to be explicit (for example, include the expected format).
  • Keep column names clear and unambiguous to improve extraction quality.

Important notes

  • Always validate critical identifiers (RSA number, date of birth, retirement date) against the source document.
  • If a field is consistently wrong, simplify the column name or add a short instruction to the column prompt.
