Overview
Tax & Compliance Validation is a workflow to verify tax calculations, flag missing deductions, and surface compliance risks before filing across corporate income tax, payroll, and VAT returns. It supports pre-filing validation — entity and period capture, recomputation/verification of tax math, deduction completeness checks, and compliance risk flagging — in one streamlined workflow. What you get: a structured table of extracted and calculated fields you can review, edit, and export. When to use Tax & Compliance Validation
Use this workflow when you need to:- Validate computed tax figures against source documents and schedules
- Identify missing, overstated, or unsupported deductions before filing

What’s specific to Tax & Compliance Validation
- Verification compares logic, not just totals. Confirm that the tax was computed using the correct basis, rates, and rules for the filing type and period.
- Missing deductions must be explicit and actionable. List missing deductions clearly (what is missing and why it appears eligible) to speed remediation.
- Compliance risk should reflect filing impact. Use the Compliance Risk field to summarise risk severity and the likely impact (penalties, exposure, audit flags).
Standard fields (default columns)
Customising Tax & Compliance Validation columns
You can tailor columns to match your internal review checklist.- Add columns for rate used, penalty/interest estimate, supporting schedule presence (Yes/No), reconciliation status (e.g., TB vs return), and reviewer sign-off.
- Rename columns to be explicit (for example, “Taxable base (₦)” or “Calculated tax (₦)”).
- Keep column names clear and unambiguous to improve extraction and validation consistency.
Important Notes
- Always confirm the filing type, period, and entity identifier match the filing package.
- If a field is consistently wrong, simplify the column name or add a short instruction to the column prompt.
- Treat this workflow as a pre-filing control; final filing decisions should follow your approval process.
